FOTD: Wearable Neutrals

Supposedly this was going to be a Japanese-style natural makeup look but I don't know... I'm not 100% content with it. I just think I could have done a better job. I also wish I had my individual bottom lashes. I misplaced them somewhere.

I wore my Heart Jewel Lashes again in this look. They're okay in my opinion. Someone asked how they compare to Elise lashes and well, I certainly like Elise better.

Bottom lashes make a huge difference! Please ignore my messy hair, though. I was too lazy to properly style it today.

face
- monistat as primer
- MAC studio fix powder
- Dusty pink blush from Coastal Scents 26 combo palette (apple of the cheeks)
- Too Faced pink leopard bronzer (cheek contour)

lips
- nivea lipcare spf27
- maybelline colorsensational lipstick in born with it

eyes
- udpp
- milani runway eyes eyeshadow palette in catwalk (medium brown color on inner half of the lid)
- coastal scents 26 combo palette (dark brown color on outer v)
- too faced the natural eye palette ("sexspresso" - cool dark brown color along the upper lashline & outer half of lower lashline, "heaven" - matte cream color on brownbone and inner corner, "nude beach" - glittery peach color on the center of the eyelid just to get the shimmery finish)
- stila smudge pot gel eyeliner in black
- false lashes (upper: heart jewel lashes #16, bottom: elise - unknown number)

My *I gotta make my hair look sexy somehow* pose, LOL.

I was inspired to do this look after seeing The Makeup Piggy's tutorial. She's very talented! I think I'm more and more interested in Japanese makeup in general; flawless face, natural eyeshadow shades, nude lips. It's so sophisticated and 'grown up', don't you think? :)

  5. Definitely - I've tried to do the Japanese makeup stuff but I can't pull it off...or maybe I just don't have the skills to do it right - probably a bit of both. Plus, smokey eyes are sooo easy to do :P I guess as I age, it's in the back of my mind that I ought to tone it down a bit with the dark makeup but for now I'm just packing it on ;)
