I mean, how could they expect people to be drawn into their makeup collection if there's practically no collection to show off? If you see a makeup counter full of fun colors and various types of products, wouldn't you be excited and actually interested to check them out? On the other hand, when you see a makeup counter full of old-timey looking products, wouldn't you just rather stay away? At least that's what I feel anyway. I do hope the people at Revlon Indonesia read this, though.
So the lipgloss I bought is in the shade #032 Buff/Chamois. It's another creamy, peachy nude kind of color which I'm always drawn into. I must say that the pigmentation is quite impressive for a drugstore gloss. It's almost as opaque as my MAC Lipglass in Prrr and the color is pretty similar too. It has microfine glitters in it which are barely noticeable on the lips; they just give off that shiny effect. The shade is not super-pale so I think it's very wearable. A lot of girls are worried that nude lippies are going to make them look dead but I can see this one looking pretty on people with different skintones.
My favorite thing about this lipgloss is that I have a compatible lipstick to wear under it: Revlon Colorburst lipstick in #070 Soft Nude. They really are a match made in heaven. Plus, they look so cute together in my purse. ;)
I should probably mention that the doe foot applicator is flat and flexible; making application less of a chore. It really suits the gooey consistency of the gloss since you can easily get the product out without having to dip the applicator like a hundred times. I just love it.
swatched: Soft Nude next to Buff/ChamoisAs you can see, the gloss has a pretty thick consistency. When swatched, it almost feels like a liquid lipstick but don't worry, it's not very sticky. In fact, it's rather thin once it's on the lips so it's not at all uncomfortable to wear.
However, staying power is just so-so. I guess this is the case with almost every drugstore lipgloss I've come across, though. I keep having to reapply this gloss after about an hour. Not that I'm complaining because overall I think this gloss is excellent. I wouldn't mind repurchasing in another color.
This lipgloss is priced at Rp 70.000 (about $7-8).

Hi Fifi, that combo looks like the perfect nude lip! I pictured these two cuddling when you said they looked so cute together in your make up bag lol.
ReplyDelete@Catra: lebih ke peach/beige gitu warnanya, lucu deh. Kemaren aku sempat ke revlon lagi ada yg warna Papaya, itu juga cantik bgt warnanya ^^
ReplyDeleteI've soft nude too, thanks for this lipgloss review~ the color is look like my canmake nudy gloss <3 <3.
ReplyDeleteI hate it too, when they don't release all of the collection color :( , I realize they just release safe color that maybe, most of Indonesian woman will purchase -.-"

ReplyDeleteduuh racun bgt si buff/chamois ituu >_<
you should try Papaya too!! warnanya coral cantik gitu lhoo ^^
I always love to see you wearing nude lips, it looks amazing on you
ReplyDeleteBut I dont think I have ever seen you with bold lips? Why dont you try it out, your lips are beautiful and I believe it would turn out gorgeous!!
I believe that Revlon Indo has their own market and thoughts though. People in here are not brave enough to be playing with 'unusual' colors, therefore they don't stock it
@Stella: Well, exactly, I mean why don't encourage these women to be more brave with makeup? I don't think Indonesian cosmetics industry would grow if the companies don't take risks. Lagipula aku yakin pasar itu sebenarnya bisa diciptakan apalagi wanita Indonesia tuh kan banyak banget dan sangat beragam preferensinya.
ReplyDeleteAnyway, thanks on your suggestion on bold lips! Actually I've done some bold lips FOTDs before but yeah, I don't do them too often because I'm more a dark makeup - nude lips kida girl. ;)
I feel your pain on the limited release thing. When Revlon released that mini collection of Super Lustrous lipglosses (the bright pink, coral, pale peach and lilac) we got everything BUT the lilac. Like no Australians will ever wear lilac lipgloss. We not only got the collection over 6 months late due to the difference in seasons, but then they didn't even give us the lipgloss I wanted the most. I ended up finding it on Ebay but was still annoyed >:(
ReplyDeleteAaaaaanyway this really *is* the perfect nude lip combo! If they stock this colour here I may have to pick it up because I already own Soft Nude and love it :)
