Skincare Lemmings

You know you've got too much time on your hands when you start scouring for beauty products online for no apparent reason. I don't have much to complain about my skin condition lately but it's still fun to make a wishlist once in a while.

I browsed and came up with a few products I'd like to try in the near future. They surely aren't cheap but I don't plan on buying them altogether anyway.

I often get asked by Indonesian readers if I would recommend and my answer has always been yes. They have fresh product policy and so far I've never had any bad experience with them. The last time I made a purchase they shipped out my package very quickly and the products I bought were all in top notch condition.

Onto my lemmings...

1. Dior Instant Gentle Cleansing Oil
I've always wanted to go back to using cleansing oil again so that I won't have to use a separate product to remove my eye makeup. This one comes in sort of a gel-like texture and is capable of removing waterproof mascara. I really think it's worth the shot especially since I've had nothing but pleasant experience with Dior makeup. It's quite pricey (I mean, it's Dior, right?) but since the bottle is pretty big I think the price is still reasonable.

2. Clarins UV Plus HP Day Screen High Protection SPF 40
My skin is pretty sensitive towards sun protection but this product gives me major hope. It is made of 100% mineral screen and can be used under makeup. Sounds perfect, right? I've read many good reviews about it already but I haven't taken the plunge yet as it's such a steep at $38/30 ml.

3. Estee Lauder Idealist Pore Minimizer Serum
I've got huge pores on the sides of my nose that I've pretty much given up on. I then came across a really convincing review about this serum and started contemplating if I should give it a try. Perhaps I'll get a sample of it first before committing to a full-size bottle.

4. Dior Hydra Life Youth Essential Hydrating Essence-In-Gel
I haven't encountered many reviews on this one but it sure sounds like the ideal product to add into my night regimen. My skin is oily but dehydrated so I'm thinking maybe this essence would be able to provide long-lasting moisture to my skin and improve suppleness. Again, this would make my purse weep but oh man I wish to try it at least once!

5. Laneige Multiberry Yoghurt Peeling Gel
Last but not least, a very famous peeling gel by Laneige. It's used to be the strawberry peeling gel if I'm not mistaken but they recently upgraded it into "multiberry". A lot of people have been raving about it already including one friend of mine. Sounds like a really yummy product if you ask me.

In the mood to try out new skincare products as well? What's in your current wishlist?

  1. those are expensive! do you think there'll be some cheap dupe for these products you mentioned?

    1. Hello! Yeah I think there should be a dupe for just about everything! For example you might want to look out for Hada Labo's cleansing oil. I've heard a lot of raves about that product but I insisted on getting the Dior one because I'm an imbecile (just kidding, lol). Also, Neutrogena has this "hydro boost gel" that I think could be a good dupe for the Dior essence-in-gel that I mentioned. :)

  2. Hi Fifi! I love a good cleansing oil because it removes my makeup and cleanses my skin at the same time without leaving an oily residue. The only thing is that the few cleansing oils I have tried sort of give me a temporary cloudy haze (when I open my eyes) when I use it to remove my eye makeup and that's strange because whenever i use baby oil/mineral oil to remove my eye makeup I don't have that kind of cloudy haze issue. Does that make sense?
I haven't used any Clarins skincare products but the one face SPF I am using which is great is the new formula for the Neutrogena Ultra Sheer liquid face SPF55. It's only about $12 USD when I get it from the USA and it doesn't leave an oily residue. I love it! But I'm not sure if you can get Neutrogena products in Indonesia or if you have to resort to online purchasing?
Dale actually uses that Estee Lauder Pore Minimizer Serum. I've been using a couple of other Estee Lauder Serums for several long months now and I haven't seen the results I want for the price they charge. So I've recently started to try out another brand of skincare instead. The Estee lauder may work for you, but it doesn't work for me very well (and my spa technician said Estee Lauder skincare didn't give her results either).

    1. Hey Karen! Hmm I've never really had that issue with any of my eye makeup remover including the cleansing oils I've tried in the past. I hope my next cleansing oil won't irritate my eyes, that would really suck. Thank you for letting me know about your experience with EL serums by the way. I'll take note of that. I'm always wary in picking up serums because they're mostly so expensive and it would make me so butthurt if they don't work!

I actually use the same Neutrogena sunscreen as you! But yeah I did have to order it online. :( I do like it but not enough to repurchase. It still feels too greasy to use during the more humid days here.

  3. Nice list. I want to try Estee Lauder Idealist. I heard good reviews on this.

  4. Hi Fifi! You should definitely try the multiberry peeling gel. It's very nice and smells very yummy. Well atleast the strawberry one did!

  5. I tried that Estee Lauder serum! It was skin did feel smoother but I didn't like it enough to repurchase.

  6. nice. xo

p.s. I'm having a giveaway from the leather satchel co. if you'd like to check it out. :)

  7. hey! follow my blog, please? :)

  8. Estee Lauder Idealist Pore Minimizer Serum is wonderful. I highly recommend it. I love it!!
